Clinical studies are of great importance in translational research. However, little is taught about them both in science courses and in medical studies. For this reason, the SFB TRR219 has launched a large series on clinical trials. The aim of this series is to cover as many areas as possible that are important for clinical trials. In the first two sessions, we first gave an overview of the structure of clinical trials and discussed how clinical trials are analyzed and interpreted. The topics covered included the significance of different study designs, the people involved in each study and the important documents. The series will now continue with workshops and presentations on statistics in clinical trials and insights into the practical implementation of a trial using the ARIANA trial as an example.
